Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ page). Below, I have tried to answer the most common questions visitors to this Web site may have. If you find that your question is not answered on this page, please email me.

Are there any preparations I need to make before my appointment?
Yes, it is best to be freshly showered prior to your session, It is best to not eat for at least 2 hours before your massage treatment. This is a similar process to swimming or a work out when your body will take all the blood away from the digestion process and take it to the working peripheral tissues therefore causing poor digestion and possible discomfort.

Do I have to take my clothes off? Only to the level you feel comfortable with. Many people choose to disrobe completely, others keep undergarments or gym shorts on, and some prefer the Shiatsu style massage and leave their clothes on.

Do you use oil or lotion? I use massage therapy gel, If you have a preference, be sure to discuss it with me.

Is there a difference between a "Masseuse/Masseur" and a "Massage Therapist"? No. "Masseuse" and "Masseur" refer to female and male massage therapists in French.

What do I do during a massage therapy treatment? Make yourself comfortable. If I want you to adjust your position, I will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.

Is a massage always appropriate? No, there are several medical conditions that would make massage inappropriate. That's why it is necessary that you discuss any conditions before you begin your session. I will ask general health questions to rule out if you have any contraindications to massage. It is very important that you inform me of any health problems or medications you are taking. If you are under a doctor's care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage prior to any session. I may require a recommendation or approval from your doctor.
